Tina Pelletier attended her first Relay For Life in June of 2007.  She was a caregiver for less than one year…and Remembers her father through Relay For Life.

As a child, Tina spent much time in the kitchen with her father.  He taught her how to cook.  “He was a wonderful chef and taught me everything he was doing every time.  Everything I know, I owe to him,” she says.

In addition to her father, Tina Remembers her Great Grandmother, Veronica Morin, her Grandmother, Joyce Pelletier, and her Great Aunt, Annette Pelletier.  Tina’s father was a son, a brother, a loving husband and father.  He was an outgoing person with a winning personality.  He was the life of the party and could cook anything blindfolded.  He knew how to have a good time.  He loved music and the Red Sox.  Tina’s sister would decorate the entire house during Red Sox World Series runs.

Tina considered her father to be her best friend.  He always defended her, even when he knew she was wrong.  He always showed pride in her and let her know that he knew she tried her hardest.  As the only male in the entire family, Tina’s father was so excited when Tina’s sister gave birth to a baby boy in February, 2006.  It was Tina’s father’s first boy in the family, and he couldn’t wait to take his grandson on fishing trips.

In their first Relay For Life event, Tina’s family team (Save the Next One) won the highest-fundraising team award.  “I feel that if we keep raising the money, then we will help to save the next ‘Kevin Pelletier’ and to save the next family from having to suffer like we did,” Tina says of her team.
