Post-Event Fundraising

Did you know that the you can still raise money to reach your goal even after the event has occurred. You can turn money in all the way up until August 31 - - and still have it credited to this year's efforts! Here is a place that you can discuss what kind of fundraisers you are planning (as a team or a committee) that will happen AFTER your actual Relay For Life event has occurred.

Tell Us How-To Do This Fundraiser

Think of yourself as a teacher or as someone who writes instruction booklets or recipes. We're asking you to share a detailed step-by-step "how-to" perform specific fund-raisers. Post your "how-to" by clicking on "Add Comment" below. Tell us:

1. What is your name, your Team Name, and what Relay For Life event do you participate in?

2. What is the name of your fund-raiser? And what type of fund-raiser is it?

2. How many people does it involve?

3. How much money does it have the potential to raise?

4. Supplies needed and/or expenses expected

5. Step-by-Step: How to plan and execute this fundraiser/event

Your fund-raiser can be anything from a simple car wash to an elaborate 5-stop Poker Run with a Live Band reception at the end. Share your favorite or most successful fund-raisers in a way that maps them out so that other Relayers across the country can duplicate them and increase their own Relay For Life fund-raising totals.

Lottery Calendars

Hello,

My team was tossing up the idea of lottery calendars as a fundraiser.  Is there anyone that can point us in the right direction as to what company to use.  We realize it might be a late thought for this year, but we can still plan for next year!

Thank you,

Kara

Ladies Night Out Fundraiser?

I recently heard about a "Ladies Night Out" fundraiser - held at a hotel - can anyone tell me if they have done this and how it worked?  Sounds like something alot of women I know would be interested in and I would love to host one.

Thanks!

HighSchool Help! :-)

My name is Casey and I'm one of the Event Chairs for my highschool's Relay. Last year we raised $89,909 and were named one of the top highschools in the country! This year we want to keep up our success, so I could really use your help :-)

First of all, we've never really done any fundraising for our event as a whole, only individual team fundraisers. What are some easy ideas to kick-off our event fundraising?

Second, this year I won't be on a team, but I still want to beat my donation of $575 from last year. One of my ideas is to go to local craft sales and sell homemade things...but I need some ideas here. Actually, any ideas for personal fundraising would be great!!

Thank you so much for all you do for ACS!

Casey

Inspirational Necklaces

Our Relay was at the end of July 2009.  We made "inspirational" necklaces and sold them in the months prior to the Relay at work, along with selling them at some area shops and hair salons.  We raised the price of the necklaces a couple of dollars to sell them in the shops and salons, so that the owners made a small commision for having them in the businesses, but we still made a nice amount for the Relay.  We had necklace displays that we put the necklaces on, and we had a sign on the display that told people that the necklaces were being sold for the Relay.  We were pleasantly surprised at how many necklaces we sold before the Relay!  And then we were *thrilled* with how many of the necklaces we sold at the Relay itself.  We made hundreds of dollars for our team!
