Australia Bushfires Claim Two Relay Towns

"This past fortnight has been shocking here. We lost a close work colleague and her family; have had two Relay towns burnt to the ground and are hearing so many stories of hardship and horror. Melbourne has been blanketed in smoke for the past week - many of the fires are burning in a one hour radius to the city - so it's very close and a reason why so many deaths - commuter distance to the city. and, unfortunately they are still burning (although now mainly in forests, away from communities),) and the toll will go higher as they only now are sifting through some of the smaller communities impacted by this.

Our Relay is held in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada - on the east coast of Canada - and would love to be able to share our Relay with another international one.

Our relay is a 12 hour event from 7pm AST - 7am AST. (6am EST - 6am EST).

Hi everybody!

I'm Bas and im 18 years old and im a cancer survivor. Im walking with relay for lifes since 2007 here in the Netherlands. I would like to involve more youth people and i would like to exchange some ideas for setting up a team and for the organisation of a Relay for Life. ive walked with more than 10 relays in the netherlands - Its very special, everytime! every relay for life is different, but they have all the same goal. Ive my own time: Mission Possible and we are a very enthausiastic team with a lot of youth!

Does sombody has good ideas for what we can sell on our stall?
we are also searching for a partner-relay-for life team! we want to exchange ideas and we want to have contact frequently. - maby we can send eachother some relay stuff: our team-relay-for life t-shirt or whatever.

We are looking to connect with as many relays as possible around the world on June 4th. If you are having you relay on this day & would be interested in connecting with us or sharing ideas, please let me know. I would love to tally laps among several locations & see if we could walk the circumference of the world in one night, but it will take several groups to do this! We are a small town in Kentucky & would love to see other parts of the world that are fighting this battle against cancer.

Funchal's Relay for Life was on September 26th. Relay site was inspiring - A wide lawn overlooking the Atlantic Ocean . Many foreigners visiting Madeira dropped by and joined Relay for Life spirit. One fifth of the 400 luminaries was not written in Portuguese. One World - One Hope. Balloons Release was spectacular . 2500 grey, red and purple balloons were released while relayers ,hand in hand, listened to John Lennon's Imagine. The Luminaries' ceremony was followed by incredible fire works illuminating the bay below the site . When is the next Relay? : the most asked question.

Looking for International Sister Relay on June 26-27, USA EST 3PM to 10 AM

Hello Relayers,

My name is Harry Wright and I am a 12 year old on the planning committee for the Relay for Life of Marshfield, Massachusetts. We are looking for a sister relay to share the fun with on June 26 and 27 from 3pm to 10am EST. WE want to set up a live video feed to each other from the relay site. We will put up posters to advertise with the name from your relay. If you have the resources available (a power source, a computer, a projector and screen, a webcam/camera hooked up to a computer, and an internet connecter {usually USB port from a cell phone network}) and someone who can ook it up, please contact me by posting a reply to this thread or emailing me at harryc181@gmail.com
