Song help

I need a song that is inspirational, uplifting, and upbeat but not too sappy. Sorry if I put this in the wrong forum topic.

Thanks bunches,

Rachel Fulton article

There's an article in the Contra Costa Times about a 14-year-old girl battling liver cancer.

Here's the link:

Relay for Life Song

This year I took part in the 2008 Santa Paula Relay for Life. It was my second year attending and as my contribution I recorded a track just for the Relay. It features 3 survivors that I know personally and 2 other hip hop artists. I pressed up the disc as a single and requested a $2 donation for them. I was able to raise over $200 (all of which went to the Relay for Life) in one day! I have decided to release this track to everyone for free as a digital download. This song was very personal and important to me and now I would like to share it with all of you. All I ask is for some feedback (good or bad) and if you would like to sell them for donations at your relay, let me know and I will send you the cd template.
Thanks for your time,
Mike M.

P.S. The download takes about 45 seconds before it's available.

I need info about relay

I have to do a project about a non-profit organization for my economics class and I chose Relay for Life because my family has been affected by cancer and I thought it would be an interesting organization to do. I need to know

  • What is the purpose or goal of the organization & who does it benefit?
  • What is the structure of the organization?
  • Where does the organization get the majority of its funds; how do they raise funds?
  • What are those funds used for, what ercentage goes right into the cause, what gets lost in the costs of running the organization, what is their budget?

I thought this would be a great place to start my research and I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you, Heather.

Date of Dr. Klatt's First Relay

Does anyone know the actual date of Dr. Klatt's first Relay in May 1985?  I have searched all over the web and the ACS websites without any luck.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Incentives - National Team Corporate Sponsors BEST BUY

Someone told me that his local Best Buy donated a gift card to the event. However, when I called my local Best Buy they pushed everything to corporate and I had to apply for a donation/gift (and I didn't recieve one). Does anyone know how to go about this?  I know that Best Buy is one of our National Team Corporate Sponsors so is there anyway I could use that to my advantage? Thanks!

Tree of HOPE Lighting Ceremony

We are holding our Kick off Rally Dec. 5th in downtown Loudonville.  We have decorated our big Tree in the downtown Central Park in all Purple Lights.  It will be lit at 7:00 p.m. with the Zion Lutheran Church Mens quartet singing, and a canlde lighting ceremony.  This will be the start of our Relay For Life Fundraising Campaign for 2009!  We are also having horse-drawn carriage rides, and lumanaries lining the downtown streets.  We are hoping this draws more awareness to our Relay.

Team meetings

I actually have at least one other person and hopefully more on my team this year!  Last year I had my 11 year old great niece, this year I have an adult and I am sure Kelsey will return.  Now that I have a team do people have meetings?  how often?  I know the other member did a talent show last year and made good $ and I said let's do it- hopefully we can find volunteers to help if the team doesn't grow by then.

So do you have team meetings often?  I am on the committee so I have a meeting 2 times a month already.  But I would really like to get this team formed by Jan.

Publicity

I am the publicity person for our Relay which means putting out all fundraisers on PSA and on the website and doing a monthly newsletter.  I was to put an ad in the newspaper about the kickoff but didn't become the publicity chair in time so I was  thinking of putting one in for the first Captain's meeting.  Is there a place on here to give me information on the publicity of relay?
