National "Wear Your Purple" day

How about a National Wear Your Purple day. All who have or have had cancer wear their purple on the same day across America (or across the world). When folks see how many people are wearing purple the magnitude of this horrendous disease may begin to sink in. Think of seeing fellow workers, the newscasters, the talk-show hosts, friends, store clerks, people that you see everyday on your trip to work that you never knew had fought cancer. The impact could be tremendous. What do you think?

Color for cancers?

I am currently making jewelry for our next Relay and I am wondering if anyone knows what colors stand for what cancers (like we know pink stands for breast cancer).  So far I have pink for breast cancer, teal for ovarian, cervical and uterine cancers, clear or white for lung cancer, light blue for prostate, black for melanoma, purple for pancreatic, orange for leukemia, grey for brain, blue for colon, yellow for childhood cancer and lavendar for all others.  I am really interested in finding a color for thyroid cancer as it is the one who struck my family.  Any info would help!  Thanks!

Texas Legislative Lobby Day

I had the wonderful opportunity to go the capital building in Austin to lobby with a few congressman. 263 ACS volunteers and staff members went and stated our position on making texas a smoke-free workplace state. If anyone else had this GRAND opportunity, please let me know how your meetings went, because i'm sortof nervous about the men that I spoke with and their positions on this important matter.

RELAY ROCKS!!!!

Street Banners

I just got back from a Relay Reunion this weekend and all weekend long they were showing pictures of A Relay For Life Street Banner (ones that you hang on light poles) and we were interested in seeing if we could get some for our town.  Does anyone have any information about those?? Thanks!
