I need help on missions delivery Ideas during event

Does anyone have any mission delivery ideas for the teams on the out side of the track during the Relay event? This is my first year, Thanks

HELP! Need Mission Information for TOMORROW!

I just found out that I need to speak for 5 minutes tomorrow on the Mission.

It is for our Event Kickoff Rally and I'm not sure I even understand what is meant by Mission, let alone what to say about it to potential relayers/volunteers for FIVE WHOLE MINUTES!!

Don't get me wrong, I present in public as a profession, so I am not nervous, but rather concerned about giving not only an accurate but a meaningful, moving and/or inspiring message.

Please help. I'm truly desperate. (Also posted this in Fight Back! forum. I need all the help I can get!)

Thanks for any information you have...

Superhero Themed Mission Delivery Events at Relay

I am the MD chair at UNC-CH. Our Relay this year is superhero themed. My committee is having trouble coming up with events that we could do at Relay that are Mission Delivery related. I would love to hear your suggestions! Thank you for any help you can give us!

Games and Pit Stops

Hey everyone -

I am trying to put together games and pit stops related to Mission Delivery and Advocacy for our Relay on May 31.  Any ideas or suggestions?  I want to give my captains the game idea, the reason why this is important to RFL, Mission Delivery and Advocacy and tie that in with brochures and such.  We have the games at each team camp and then people go from site to site and have their passport stamped.

Thanks for any help.

Mission Chair Help

Hey all,

I am new to the Relay for Life program that we are running at Southern New Hampshire University.  I am the Mission Chair for the project and I was looking to see if there were any fellow past or current Mission Chairs out there that could offer me some advice or help?  My Email is Justin.Woodard@snhu.edu and i would really look forward to hearing from anyone who could lend me a hand!!!

THANKS in advance,

New Award Idea

We use Spirit Points or Bucks at our Relay and award a Spirit Award, a perpetual plaque, to the winning team.  Traditionally we give out spirit points at team captain's meetings and for other various activities before the Relay.  In an attempt to keep the Spirit Award as competitive as possible, I want to award spirit points only during the Relay.  I still want to encourage individuals and teams to get involved before the event.  To do this I would like to create a new award.  It would be exactly like the Spirit Award Program, but for activities outside the Relay for Life promoting the event.  I do not know what to name this new award.  Please help me out and suggest possible names for such an award.  Thanks.

UPDATE:  I have decided to call the award the "Relay 365 Award."  Teams will be awarded points for representing the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life within the community throughout the year.  For example, teams helping staff an informational booth for the Relay For Life at a community fair or farmer's market.

? What is ACS & RFL stance on med. marijuana?

Hello everybodee! I'm a new survivor here. Just attended my 1st rfl walk in Auburn. I want to become more involved. I made a donation website. I was wondering if the American Cancer Society or Relay for Life had any kind of official stance on the use of medical marijuana? I thought this might be a good platform to promote my RFL participation on. What do you think? Americans for Safe Access and NORML have great brochures, flyers and info that would be useful in promoting at the RFL booths.

Thanks for reading and TIA for responding.

I'm new here and need lots of help!

Hello, newbie here...Hope it isn't too much trouble but I could use some help. I'd like to get involved in Relay For Life but I'm not sure in which capacity I'd be able to participate due to time and caregiving constraints. My Dad was diagnosed with Metastatic Prostate cancer about 2 years ago and it seems there is no cure, right now we just have to buy him as much time as possible with hormone therapy, but who knows how long that will last. To add to it I just took my Grandmother to her doctor today and found out that she has Breast cancer. We don't know yet if it's spread to the lymph nodes or what, we just know she has 2 masses in one breast and a possible mass in the other. At the moment I don't know which end is up and I find myself asking what our family has done to deserve this. So far there's been no answer. Anyway...enough about our problems. I know I could make a simple donation (once I can afford to), but to me it really seems like there's more to be done. Thank you for your help.

Mission Chair at Relay

We have activities set up at for the relay, but are there other things I should be doing for that night?  Someone mentioned posters or something around the track.  Any info will be greatly appreciated.
