Looking for Lifesong for Our Survivor CeremonyHi Everyone, Several years ago the American Cancer Society had a CD of songs that would be a great fit for our Relays. One of the was called "Lifesong" by Jack Storey and the Track Blue. I have been able to find the lyrics (or poem) but not the song. I would love to be able to use it for our Grand Blanc MI Relay in just 28 days! It is the perfect song for our Survivor Lap. If anyone has a link to this song, please let me know. Thanks to each of you for all that you are doing this year in your own Relay For Life! Julie Menassaka, chairperson jmenassaka – May 10, 2009 – 12:46am

Opening Ceremony Scripts?Hi Everyone! So I know there are ceremony scripts already written, I started to use some of the pieces of the opening ceremony, however, I noticed it's from 2007, which means that some of the information is old, could have been used last year and the data would be old. I am a cancer survivor, so I plan to share my story, but I want to remind everyone first why they are at relay, what it means, why we relay, etc. And what our money is going to. What are the new findings, etc. Any suggestions? rndiln – March 31, 2009 – 7:32pm

Opening Ceremony/Survivor LapMy event is April 25 & 26 2009. I have the Survivor on one end of the track and the caregivers on the othere, not too far apart,. I have the ceremony starting with the Suvivors walking to the caregivers and exchanging gifts then continueing around the track back to the stands while someone is signing "Theres a hero in you". After they are seated we have the color gard come in and the invocation and pledge. Then our guest speaker who is is 12 year old going through brain cancer treatment. Then the survivors and caregivers leave the stands to "I know where I am going". I was told by someone yestereday, after I submitted my program, that the 'walkers' will hate setting there while the survivor/caregivers do their lap and set down. They suggested I change it... pattyinarnold – March 31, 2009 – 10:47am

Non-Balloon Arch IdeasHi there, This is my second year as chairperson of our local relay, and I am looking for new ideas for the arch decorations. We have always used balloons in the past. The last few years we have had a hard time finding people to do it, and it has been very disappointing. So, we thought we would try to make an arch without using balloons. Any ideas would be appreciated. momtaks – March 24, 2009 – 2:49pm
