Fear Factorhello
I have seen some of you post Fear Factor as something you have done or are doing at your Relay. What do you do for the challenges? I have some ideas, but I am stumped at how many to do and how many people you let sign up? I want to make sure I have enough to fill the time. Thanks

CaregiversAfter going to this year's Relay University it came to my attention that my relay doesn't really do much to acknowledge the care givers. I also discovered that Relays that give kudos to the care givers get better participation from the thankful survivors. That being said. I'm looking for some ideas on how to honor our care givers at our event this year. The event is the last weekend of May, but any ideas after then will be welcomed to help for next year. So far the only thing we do is have a "care giver lap" right after our "survivor lap". We also give carnations to the care givers during that lap. Last year we also had care giver t-shirts. Other than that, the care givers tend to get lost. We have a "survivor tent" which honors and pampers the survivors, but we don't have enough space for a "care giver tent" as well. Plus, the majority of our participants are care givers. Any ideas? LycoRogue – March 19, 2009 – 12:45pm

Middle School ActivitiesWe have strong events for both elementary and high school students at our relay, but our middle school students seem to get lost in the shuffle as far as relay involvement is concerned. We struggle with how to keep them entertained during the event/committed to the cause. Does anyone have any great middle school activities at their Relay they can recommend? Any help is much appreciated! JMAC1984 – March 1, 2009 – 6:13pm

Massage ChairsI just wanted to throw an idea out there...my first Relay was on my school campus. I went to school for Massage Therapy and the secretary to the Massage Therapy department was the one who would make all the arragements for Relay for Life Columbia-Greene every year. She came to our class and explained about the Relay. We all go really excited when my professor told us that every year the massage students do chair massage at the Relay for class credit. It was one of the events that made our Relay so popular...everyone knew that there would be free chair massage! I've since graduated and am participating in a Relay closer to my home on a new team. We're going to make chair massage part of our fundraising at the Relay this year by offering a ten minute massage for a small donation. I'm going to get some of my LMT friends to bring their chairs as well and massage for a few hours. MayerNMe – February 24, 2009 – 11:21am

Battle of the BandsHas anyone ever hosted a battle of the bands event as a fundraiser or event activity? My realy is really focused on youth involvement, we are trying to find ways to get more youth involved with relay and also find ways to get more families to come to the relay. As entertainment chair, one event I'm thinking of is a battle of the bands competition. I just don't know much about these events. Any ideas? Thanks! a_wagner86 – February 16, 2009 – 6:50pm

Relay Theme- SuperheroHello!
We are doing a "Superhero and Comic Book" theme this year for our Relay. The slogan will be, "Saving the world, one cure at a time." We were thinking each individual team could choose a superhero and go off of that. Any ideas for activities or entertainment related to the theme? Any ideas at all?
Thanks, and good luck with your Relays! samanthaunlv – February 4, 2009 – 3:07pm

Entertainment ContractI'm busy getting bands/singers/dancers for day of the event as entertainment. Does anyone out there put together a contract for their bands/dancers/singers? I mean no money will exchange hands, but just something that says you'll be there on this day, this time and their committment to relay. If you have anything please forward to me!!! Thanks!
