So, you want to make a donation to the Relay For Life of Second Life, but you aren't sure whether you can trust that your Lindens will end up in the right account. You've come to the right place, my friend.
How It Works 1. Relay For Life Teams are given these kiosks/vendor cards at the beginning of the season to be used to collect donations. 2. The kiosks/cards are pre-scripted to route the money to the American Cancer Society's avatar account. 3. The teams set the kiosk so that their team is recognized for the contribution made...but they do not keep it. This is for recognition purposes only. 4. When you make a donation to the kiosk/card, you will receive a notification that says you paid the OWNER of the kiosk. Don't worry. 5. When you make that donation, the owner gets a notification that says they have been paid by you. Immediately after, they get a 2nd notification saying that they just paid "relayforlife AmericanCancer" (that's our avatar) the exact same amount.
Points of Interest The American Cancer Society's avatar is named relayforlife AmericanCancer. He is only used to collect donations, nothing more. The American Cancer Society's staff representative in Second Life is Stingray9798 Raymaker. Fundraising events held by teams are not put on by the RFL Planning Committee - therefore, the committee may not be able to answer questions related to those events. If you would like to verify anything before making a donation in Second Life, you are welcome to contact anyone on the Planning Committee. You can find names and contact information here. If you are interested in making a credit card donation, you can visit our event registratoin/donation site here. Return to RelayForLife.org/SecondLife

If you give your Lindens to anyone or anything other than the two kiosks you see pictured on this page, we cannot guarantee that your money will reach the American Cancer Society. Therefore, our advice is to only give to these approved, official koisks and vendor cards.
6. Therefore, your donation just passed through their account - but was automatically re-routed to our account.
