My co-captain pointed out to me today that there is no prompt to enter offline donations and I know it used to be there. Am I missing something or is it just the page for my Relay that is a problem? We use the kintera system, and it used to be there. I want my team to be more pro-active with donations, and not having that option stinks. Any input? Thanks! Heather Alvey Chair - Reno/Sparks

Offline donations
This is an option that can be turned on or off for each website.  Talk to your Online Chair or staff person about turning on this tool.  Its a great way for teams to track all their donations!

Offline donations

The ability for team members to enter offline donations on their personal page is the Kintera "Pledge Tool". It's activated via KinteraThon / <event> / Website Info / Website Features / Pledge Entry Tool (it's the fifth from the bottom on the Website Features page).

 CAUTION: Ensure your Division / Region are ok with activating this option. In South Atlantic Division, for example, we discourage it and don't support its use. Reason: Data integrity and the effort to reconcile and take out of "Pending" these offline transactions. So, before activating it, check with your ACS Staff partner on what the guidelines are for your Division.

I know that the CA Division

I know that the CA Division is also not allowing Relays to use the offline donation tool in 2008.

I, however, agree that it is a useful tool. In 2006 we allowed the offline donation tool to be used, and when we discontinued the practice in 2007, I had an universal response from our team captains that they did NOT like this change and that they would like to see offline donations reflected again in 2008. I'm not looking forward to telling our returning captains that they will not be able to do offline donations again this year :(
