I'm new here, but I just wanted to say that my daughter, Sarah, has just completed chemotherapy for NHL. Her prognosis is great, but it has been a difficult time for our family. I am hoping to get involved with anything related to NHL. Linda Trackback URL for this post:http://www.relayforlife.org/relay/trackback/6127

Hi Linda
Hi Linda,
I'm a survivor of ALL. I was diagnosed at five and I'm a happy 25 year old woman who just graduated from college. I want to get my Master's degree in Higher Education and start a foundation to provide college prepration services for childhood and adolescent cancer survivors. If you ever need to talk to someone please feel free to send me a message. Hugs to you and Sarah,
Sarah :)
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
I'm not sure exactly what I did, but I think I replied directly to you from the email that showed up in my email inbox. Anyway, thank you so much for writing. I hope I'm not repeating myself, but I want you to know that it gives me so much hope when I hear of other young people who have gone through successful treatment for one of the blood-related cancers--well, any cancer, really.
I think it's wonderful what you are planning on doing. My daughter is working on her masters in education as well--Social Studies/History and is also working on becoming certified in ESL. She took 3 very intense online classes while going through chemo and has also been working part-time at an Italian restaurant while looking for a teaching job.
How often do you need to see your doctor for follow-up visits? Sarah had her last R-CHOP chemo on August 21st and will have a PET scan on Sept. 10th. If that's clear (as we are expecting it to be) she doesn't have to go back to see the hematologist for 3 months!
All the very best to you,
Linda
