Hi Everybody!
I'm in need of some help for ideas for fundraising on site that's easy & will go with a birthday party theme. Our City-wide theme for this Relay has got to do with celebrating Relay's 25th year. So we're having a birthday party complete with cake and ice cream. I know we'll be decorating with the obvious... balloons, streamers, banners, giant birthday card, etc....However, I need to do some fundraising too. I'm thinking...guess the # of jellybeans or m&ms in a jar, children's goody bag raffle (Candies, toys, pencils... should I do 1 for a girl and 1 for a boy or just 1 nongender specific), sell candy, party games for donations, wishing well for actual on site donations.... If anyone has any ideas that might be unusual, out of the ordinary or even traditional, old fashioned, please let me know.
THANKS BUNCHES!!!!

I like the idea of hosting party games... do it for a fee, kind of like a carnival. You could have 4 or 5 different games and charge $1 per game. Prizes could be anything from Oriental Trading - they offer great small prizes items in bulk and for cheap.
You could approach a local bakery for sheet cake donations and have a hands-free birthday cake eating contest for a $5 entry fee (maybe that same bakery could donate a gift certificate for the winner?).
Ooooh, what about pinatas, maybe for ages 6 and under?! You could see if a local grocery store would donate a few. Fill them with goodies (candy, stickers, etc.) and sell a swing at the pinata for $2, giving each person who swings a goodie bag to collect candy when it breaks.
You could also have a 'guess the gift' game where small items are wrapped up and kids have to feel them to guess what they are. $1 to play and if you guess correctly you keep the gift? That's another one where Oriental Trading would help a lot. You could have a ton of little rubber ducks or something like that... could be cute.
