I have had several people register twice and I have made the second registrations both inactive and private. However, our Data entry Lady had trouble with entering a donation because she could still see the inactive participant (there was no way for her to distinguish between the two from the page she was on).

I was wondering if there was a way to delete these duplicates.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

Christi

inactive registrants

when i have had to inactivate people, i switch their name to just their initials. i then move them to a team i set up called the "dud registrations" the people checking reports for our event know to not take into account any people on this team.

Deleting a participant

When you change them to "inactive and private" - change the first name to "inactive".  That way, your data entry person will know not to use that particular name.

Deleting...or merging...records

Christi, you've found the "hole" in making registrations inactive. They're still there when you really don't want them to be.

The only absolute way to get rid of the duplicates is to merge them. Division Admin needs to do that, so either open a Relay Online Help Request ticket or email sa.onlinefundraising@cancer.org with the particulars. (Sorry; I'm no longer authorized as Div Admin.)
