Has anyone held a murder mystery dinner as a fundraiser? If so please tell me about it. I'm looking for a script that would fit for our fundraiser.

Our Relay put on a Murder Mystery Dinner/Auction last week and it was a great success! We purchased a script from http://www.murder-mystery-game.com/ and found a cast that would fit the parts. Those who volunteered to act meet once a week for over a month until they had the night of the dinner. We ran into an issue of the night before one of our actors had to drop out because of a Chemo treatment scheduled for the day of. Her replacement was awesome! The mystery we choose was we had a southern garden party as the theme to the dinner. A roasted pig was donated so we had pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, pasta and potato salads, and cakes for desert. All the food was donated. We sold out tickets for $5 adults $1 kids. Are hall which was donated for the night, fit 200 people. Teams were asked to donate items (baskets) and those items were auctioned off in a silent auction during the night. A few of the big items were held for a live auction. We raised over $3000 from ticket sales and auction items.
I LOVE this idea. We have never tried one, but I think it would be fun to do. Let me know if you do it and how to do it. ddrelay@yahoo.com THANKS!!
