Hello Everyone!
I was just wondering what you all thought of my fundraising ideas (i will list them below). Also I wanted to know if you know of any better fundraising ideas for a group of teens on a low-budget.
Pre/Post-Relay:
1.Our school is letting us do a "Hat Day" where everyone brings in a dollar and if they do they get to wear a hat of their choice for the day
2.At our "home" baseball games a few team members and I will be selling concessions
3.Possibly the "Hope Candles" another Relayer talked about.
On-Site:
1.Our theme is circus/carnival so we will be selling cotton candy and lemonade and then we will have carnival games such as bean bag toss and we will charge a dollar a game I think.
2.Selling any leftover candles or concessions
What do you think?
Thanks, and Happy Relaying!

I am currently working with a local bank (US Bank) to raise funds for Relay for Life. As an Avon representative, I have a variety of products for customers to purchase and the proceeds will go to RfL naturally. But, as an idea for anyone anywhere in the United States, Avon reps with online stores can host fundraisers that are solely online. How it works is, a specific time period (like a weekend) is set up between the organization and the representative. Then, evites are sent out and it's publicized that you will be able to log in to the online store during the specified time and shop as little or as much as you want. The donation amount, which is agreed upon prior to the actual fundraiser, will then be given in form of check/money order to the organization by the Avon Rep.
It's so easy and people don't even have to leave their house to participate! It's also great for people to get involved from across the country. Friends and relatives that don't live nearby can help your local organization just by shopping Avon online, and have their items shipped directly to their door for FREE.
Just an idea!

There are a few things that you can do as a teen team. Here are just a couple ideas that come to mind:
**Have a car wash
**Have a bake sale (you can even sell baked goods at the car wash)
**Sell the feet, stars or moons...which ever your Relay has. Ask businesses to sell them for you, just remember which businesses are selling for your team!
**Penny War - I'm not sure what grade your in but if you have a homeroom or you could even do a certain class (hour/period) during the day, have them save up pennies. The class that raises the most pennies gets either a ice cream or pizza party. Something fun...Here's a couple of "facts" that might help with making a flyer about it...Did you know that one milk jug full of pennies weighs 35 pounds? And did you know that 30 pounds of pennies is equal to $50?
**Kiss The Pig - You'll have to get a teacher or even the principal to agree with you, that if your school can raise so much money that he'll kiss a pig. You can make the whole school think that it's real and bring in a stuffed animal, or you can go and bring in a real pig. I remember doing this in high school and we had a select number of teachers (I think 6) that had their names on cans and during lunch kids put money in the can and who ever had the most money had to kiss the pig, but for that we used a real pig.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. As your ACS Rep if he/she has a fundraising packet. We got one full of ideas!!
GOOD LUCK!!
Together We CAN Make A DIFFERENCE!!
Our hs students added another great fundraiser to their arsenal this year. A couple of the students hosted a bonfire in their backyard. They asked for a minimum donation of $5, but some kids gave as much as $20 to attend. There was music, games, and light refreshments. High school students always have parties and this was a way to incorporate fundraising into their normal teen activities. I believe they raised almost $350...and had a great time in the process.
