Does anyone know of a way to attach a .pdf file to send out a newsletter to participants in our Relay event? I'm having trouble using Convio for that purpose...

Attachments to coaching emails

Shaun, a PDF (or any other file type) can't be attached to a Convio coaching email. Upload the PDF to your Relay Website and create a link to it on one of your Webpages or grab the uploaded PDFs URL and embed it in the coaching email.

Is there a way to put it on the website so that a person has to be logged in to view it?

"Private" pages on Website

If you go into EMC / Event Website / Choose a Page to Edit / Home Page (third from the bottom, under "Participant Pages"), you can VERY carefully edit the Participant Center home page. Then, your local Relayers would have to sign in to the Relay site and click on Participant Center to see the link to your PDF.

One note: Midwest Division (yours) may have deployed Relay sites slightly differently than South Atlantic Division (mine) did, so if you find you cannot edit the Participant Center home page, you'll have to go to plan B, which is to embed the URL of the uploaded PDF into the coaching email.
