I am looking for some feedback on closing ceremonies. We are wanting to serve breakfast at the closing ceremony as incentive for people to stay. The closing would also include some type of wrap up. Does anyone else serve breakfast and if so, do you begin serving before the closing say 4:00 am. My concern is that if we start serving too early people eat and then leave before 6:00.

Breakfast

We do our breakfast between 5-530am.  While we are doing clean up and such, the co-chair and a volunteer go pick up HOT breakfast donations.  Once they return we all gather around for a wrap up/prize give a way/fellowship/awards...when breakfast is fiinished we do our closing ceremonies.

Don't be afraid that it's too early

Don't be afraid to offer a breakfast that early in the morning. You'll be surprised on how many people will want something warm and good to eat at that time. We had a team that did it at our Relay last year and It felt good to have something warm to eat. Pancakes are such an easy thing to make and do. Just make sure you tell teams at your monthly meetings about you doing this, so they don't end up bringing their own breakfast items.

We serve breakfast at our

We serve breakfast at our Relay and it normally starts about 6 am and goes till about 7 but our realy doesn't end till 9 am and at the end of relay we have a little chruch service it lasts about 10-15 minutes

Breakfast - Donated or Fundraiser

I was wondering if you do your breakfast as a fundraiser (charge $2), or do you get all of the items donated and just provide it?

Breakfast or Lunch

I am a twenty year cancer survivor, as I was first diagnosed in 1989 with cervical cancer.

I received lasar treatment as well as cold knife conization. In 1998 my cancer came back with a vengegance and I have bi-lateral oophrectomy with a radical Typically the breakfast or lunch is for the survivors and then they go to the event or end the event. Most of your people working in the Relay will be survivors or their relatives. There are usually organizations that provide the meal. Typically it is done in a cafeteria like setting.
