We are looking for a 2 year car related theme for our event. We will have a 1948 Chev that has been restored as a street rod & will start selling raffle tickets at Relay 2009 for $5. We will pull the winning ticket at Relay 2010. We anticipate this as being a hugh fundraiser & are looking for a great car related theme. Any suggestions are appreciated.

"I know it's a '48 car... but why not do a 50's theme?"
This would be a fun idea, might have to bring this to the board meeting for our next fund raiser :)

Car Wash For A Cure – Hold a fundraiser at the event washing cars for a donation!
“GTO” – by Ronny and the Daytonas - Similar to “Little Red Corvette”
“Little Red Corvette” after the Prince song –get Corvette matchbox cars and decorate your tent with a Corvette poster or have the kids paint it on a tarp…Have a jukebox and play the song.
“Pink Cadillac” – Bruce Springsteen… Again, similar to some of the ideas above for GTO or Little Red Corvette….
"Doggies Cruisin' For A Cure" - all wear bulldog masks and bring a cool car to the event that you put on display...
"Doggies Driving For A Cure" - Have pictures around your site of dogs driving cars :)

Leave Cancer in the Dust - “Decorate with the black and white checkered flags, and maybe even some of the little orange cones. If someone on your team is creative and handy, maybe make a cut out of a car. Sell "race day" foods (popcorn, hotdogs, pretzels) and goodies. (If I'm completely off on that, I'm sorry-I've never actually been to a race.) Maybe get a local Nascar store to donate some items to sell and a cardboard stand-up of a known driver would be awesome.” Thanks to MagieDCat for this great idea!

Our theme last year (2008) was
Life is a Highway... our destination is a Cure for Cancer!)
we played "highway" songs, had "highway" signs printed out on paper and
posted around the track... and lots more! It really was a fun theme to do.

1948 Customized Suburban Street Rod
The tickets for this car can be found on our team website listed below. We cannot start selling the tickets until the debut at our Relay -June 12 - New Albany High School, Indiana. Our car show begins at the end of our Relay. All information on the car and show are listed on the web site. Tickets can be purchased with credit cards on the site as well or there is an address to mail your info to and we will soon be listing any physical address locations as we get them lined out.
Please do come to our Relay and car show - this car is going to blow your socks off!
Pictures are on the web now of the car when we first received it, of the students and teachers working on it and of all the sponsors around that country that have donated to it.
