Anyone ever do a spaghetti dinner?  We are trying it with the cost of $7 a plate,  but are in the dark about how much to get.  Hopefully we will get a great deal donated for the food-either in $ to buy it or food made.

It isn't until March

Speg Dinner

I hope that you have other ideas planned. I that is do disappointing when that happens.

it was a bust

First off the event was advertised on PSA then we were told by my church we couldn't use the social hall and had to move it and put an ad in the paper, but the tv still advertised it wrong.  It rained all day.   We had a ton of food and only about 30 people which included the ones that cooked and their families.  We couldn't even get the firemen to come at a discounted price of 2/$7 and they could get it to go.

We also had a ton of other dinners going on that night for a variety of reasons.

I don't even want to hear spaghetti again!

spagetti fundraiser

Last year our team did a spagetti lunch after church on a Sunday. We did a free will donation and raised $2000 and served about 200 people. We had the spagetti, meat a and salad all donated. Our team made all the desserts. It didn't cost us anything and it was fun.

If you are charging $7 a

If you are charging $7 a plate then a good rule of thumb is 1/4 lb of speg and 1 1/2 c of sauce per plate with bread and a salad per person. You can always put out cookies and pastries with coffee and that would be a full meal.
