fundraising

One way we fundraised is to fill a container with candy and count how much you'v put in there. In school (as long as you have checked it with the principal) during the lunches you could sell guesses as to how much is in there (we normally sold them for a dollar a  guess) and whoever has the closest guess gets the candy. We have also raffled off stuffed animals or other things you can buy cheap and get people to donate. The team i was a part of did this when we were in the 4th grade, and we made a lot of money with this.

Good Luck!

Fundraisers

Sorry, I was confused. I thought you were looking for ways for youth to help. Anyway, if you do have any other questions, please let me know and I would be happy to help. As for fundraising, look in the Team Captain Tool Kit for some fundraising ideas. Also look in the library for training videos on fundraising. An easy one may be to give empty coin canisters to youth and have them fill with quarters. One container can hold about 5 dollars. It all ads up. If you have any other questions please let me know.

Youth Chair

Hi,

I too am the youth chair for the RFL or Sunbury/Big Walnut Ohio. I understand what it's like. Here are some ideas:

Set-Up - youth can help unload vehicles of supplies and set up
Luminaria - Set up and Tear down - youth can help place the bags around the track and then pick up the next day
Concessions - Youth can work in concessions - depending on the rules for your Relay - some Relays don't allow youth - others must have youth and adult
Walk - Youth can walk for teams - have you considered an all-youth team?
Tear Down - Opposite of set up

These are some of the things that I try and organize. If you have any questions or need help - or anyone else have questions on this subject - please e-mail me and I would be happy to help

I hope these helped
