I'm trying to find ways to motivate my team members to do indivual fundraising. My team is great at coming up with ideas for team funraisers but I can't get them to understand the importance of individual fundraisers. I'm doing a competition this year to see who raises the most individually, but I don't know what to give away as a prize. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I would encourage team members to redeem their incentive gift offered through the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. It can create a friendly competition to reach the next level.
Motivate by sharing what a certain amount of dollars can go for or represent. Share the service offered through ACS and with todays economy more and more people will be seeking out these services. Also, if you have a team that has a hard time raising money, maybe they can gather donations that can be sent to a HOPE Lodge. Each HOPE Lodge has a wish list.
Online fundraising is the easiest! Donation and thank you letters are ready to be tweaked with personal story, e-mail address and click! My teams also used the e- cards to encourage and remind people to donate. Get your team online!!!
Happy Fundraising!

You may want to first find out what "motivates" your team members. For some it's monetary, for others it's praise. Get together with your team and ask them what would "motivate" them to get out there and raise the most money.
We experienced this and had a meeting and ended up giving a family movie night package to our top fundraiser and also put their picture in our bank memopost praising them for their efforts.
Good luck!
