Anyone ever done this. Im not sure which place I will approach but would like some advice as to the procedure you used and how successful you were.
Thank you in advance!

How exactly do I go about getting businesses to sell these for me? How do I ask them to keep up with the money from the sales? Just keep it in an envelope? I don't know anything about how to do this, but I just got my suns and moons in the mail today and hope to get some businesses selling them for me in a couple days. My Relay is in about 3 weeks, so there's not much time. Have I waited too late? I need some advice!
This is probably going to sound like a really silly quesion...but is it really that easy? I've tried selling sun and moon cards on my own, without much luck. I want to approach a business this year with the sun and moon cards, but is it really as easy as writing a letter or asking the manager?
I thought it was. I basically just told them my name, who I was with and what we were doing. I told them that for every dollar this is spent it goes to the American Cancer Society. I also gave them a sponsorship packet, that way they get all the information and maybe not only sell the sun/star & feet but could also end up sponsoring your Relay.
Here in Concord, NC we have the feet and the suns. I have a local gas station sell some for out team and also one of the local collectible stores sells them and posts them around their store. You're ACS advisor should be able to get them for you to sell. We have ours at every team captain's meeting.
In Frankfort KY, we had a bank that the staff in drive thru had made a headband with one attached so people driving thru could see. She sold a lot!

Ask local stores, school or any work place to sell them and post them. They can hold the money for you to pick up and apply to your team.
Here in NJ we have lots of places like Quickcheck (milk stores) that may do it if you ask them.
It never hurts to ask .
Good luck!
REALY ON!!!
Last year, instead of stars and moons, we had purple feet for our relay. We asked one of the local gas stations that we do business with to sell them. All we had to do was send a letter of request to their home office, and they in turn were glad to help out. Those girls raised over $500 just in selling feet!
I am on the Steering Committee for Kerr County TX RFL and also a Team Captain. I just wrote my ACS regional about it. I won't know anything until Monday. I was thinking if she didn't have the moon and stars, maybe a local printer could help us with contributing design and prints?
We were very successful at Delta selling “footprints” for $5.00 donations to Juvenile Diabetes and posting them on our duty desk window. It was the outline of a footprint and we would write the contributor’s name. People love to see their names displayed and this is a very inexpensive way to collect contributions in the community. I was thinking maybe working this angle with our local schools and maybe doing $.25 - $1.00 donation with the kids and local businesses for $5.00 a donation. It’s also an idea to give our Team Captains with local businesses.
