Hi all! Has anyone ever thought of doing an onsite photo booth fundraiser? Like the kind you see in the mall, 4 pics per strip? The opportunity to do this has been presented to me and I wonder if it is a good idea.

On Site Photos

Several years ago we had a team that took advantage of the theme, Rockin Around The Clock, and setup a background of old LPs that had been painted gold.  The survivors had their pictures done for free and everyone else paid a small fee.

Northeastern Wisconsin Photographer

Having cancer myself and knowing the importance of preserving memories, I would like to help out and provide some type of service at the local events. My website is http://www.mnrstudio.com and I can be reached by phone at (920) 585-0245. Thank you for the opportunity to let me help in my small way.

Photobooth

If you still have that opportunity, jump on it.

I am a photographer, specializing in Weddings and High School Senior portraiture.  One of the seniors photographed was a cancer survivor.  A year later, I photographed her again.  Now those photos hang in her parent's house. A simple photograph is a powerful thing. I've always heard that a picture is worth a 1000 words.  Sometimes that's all you have left of a loved one. Even one from a cellphone.

Bottom line is that it doesn't matter if you have a photographer onsite or a photobooth.  That one simple photo will make a big difference.  I know, because I don't have one of my sister and it's a regret I'm living with as well as a reason why I'm now a photographer.

Sounds like a great idea, if

Sounds like a great idea, if you got the means to do it.  I can see alot of kids loving that too!

Can be done

I know my little brother has set up a photo booth at birthday parties and gives away the photos as party favors.

You can have people make a RFL banner to use as a backdrop. Have a digital camera, a few memory cards, and a photo printer on site. You can easily charge $5 a photo. That will be enough to cover your cost for the ink and still make a significant profit to give to ACS.

Hope this helps out!
