Someone told me that his local Best Buy donated a gift card to the event. However, when I called my local Best Buy they pushed everything to corporate and I had to apply for a donation/gift (and I didn't recieve one). Does anyone know how to go about this?  I know that Best Buy is one of our National Team Corporate Sponsors so is there anyway I could use that to my advantage? Thanks!

Best Buy donations

The WOLF group (Women's Leadership Forum) within Best Buy is the sponsor of ACS RFL.   Best Buy corporate is not sponsoring RFL financially, but is in support of it's employees participating.   WOLF is not providing any donations to individual relay events.

Each of our stores has a nominal budget that they can use for discretionary contributions.  Due to the many requests that they receive for donations they unfortunately cannot contribute to all requests.   Anyone looking for a donation should contact the store ViewPoint Captain or Community Liaison several months prior to when they would like the donation.

Best Buy

Thanks for your question.  I work with Best Buy corporate to facilitate their participation in the National Corporate Team Program.

Best Buy is indeed a 3rd year participant in the National Corporate Team Program (NCTP), encouraging participation in Relay events nationwide.  Best Buy also encourages staff to volunteer in their communities and many Best Buy employees have volunteered at Relays.  Best Buy corporate does not sponsor Relays; individual stores have discretion about local donations.

The Relay NCTP program is promoted through the Women's Leadership Forum (WoLF Packs) at Best Buy.  It might be worth asking for the WoLF Pack contact at your local Best Buy to discuss RFL participation, volunteer opportunities and possibly a local donation.

Thanks for your work in the fight against cancer.

Best Buy

Best Buy is a member of our National Team Program, one of 39 companies recognized for their team involvement nationwide.  They have more than 600 teams this past year and are one of the top companies for involvement nationwide.  This is not a national sponsorship, but a team program.  Donation / gift cards are not awarded at the national level but is a local decision, however I will forward your question to our relationship manager of the company.  Thank you for your support of this relationship in the community level and I encourage you to build volunteerism and teams from your local Best Buy.
