I am the youth development chair at my relay and I am trying to brainstorm issues/topics of advocacy & mission that would be of interest to high school age youth. As well as helping the kids organize fundraising & getting more kids involved, I think it would be really awesome to do a couple cancer awareness events/activities in the schools. Right now all I am brainstorming is a "go pale to prom" campaign, talking about safe sun/tanning bed habits. Also the obvious "no smoking" campaign is an issue that affects youth as well. Any other specific prevention campaigns/habits/topics that you all can think of? Thanks in advance!

I am a senior my high school and there are many thigns you can do to get the students involved, especailly if the school has a EAST hab, you may coul dask some of those students to help you. But you could do many things with the no smoking stuff, last year i dones drinking and driving project and alot of students loved it and so did the teachers. We had students participation, so if you do do something let the students get invilved in it so its not just liek your just giving them information. We did a reanactment of a drunk driving incident and with students seeing their friends actually like that some said it really you know open there eyes and made them want to start telling others about it. So what ever you do just make sure the students are actice in it. The EAST Lab is a good group to help, if the school has one!
