Hi all we have only 3 weeks to go until our attempt to relay around the world!
We need a total of around 8 relays from different time zones across the world to make this work... we already have Relay For Life Bury UK and Relay For Life San Ramon CA. We also have some interested relays from the west coast of the USA (but none fully confirmed), we also need relays from the other time zones across the USA.
We are attempting something which has never been done before in that we want to walk the distance around this great planet of ours (24,900 miles)in our colective 24 hours whilst setting up a live video link (via the internet) between all relays in the network.
This is a great way to encourage your participants to turn out and walk... it is also a great way to learn from each other in an environment of mutual encouragement!
Imagine including a virtual passing of the "baton" and a few words of encouragement from your fellow relayers in your your opening ceremony!
Are you up for the challenge?
Then get intouch with either myself Andy Graham Relay For Life Bury UK) at andy@relayforlifebury.org or Juli Fountain (Relay For Life San Ramon) at relaydivajuli@comcast.net
Let's get ready to relay

I am the National Volunteer Leader representing PartyLite Gifts in the National Corporate Team Program. 2008 was our first year in the NCTP and we were hugely successful having more than 400 teams Relaying in 47 states. We will have our first international Relay in Germany this year - on a military base. I would like to see how PartyLite teams can join in the international fun and find teams around the world.

Hi all, we now have a total of 4 interested east coast relays. Could you all supply me with your e-mail addresses so that I can open up a dialogue between us all in order to find the best way forward with our fantastic project?
Regards
Andy

Wow! This is great! You are the second person to write in such a short time! Thank you!
We are hoping to find as many Relays around the world who are Relaying on the same days to share our experiences and Fight Back together! Bury in the UK is 5 hours ahead of you. And we are 3 hours behind you. Lynn from Burrillville-Glocester, RI wrote earlier and their Relay may be interested. They start on the 26th. So potentially, we've got the baton passing along nicely, if your Relay, too, would like to participate!
We'd like to walk about 25,000 miles between all of the Relays involved in order to cover the circumferance of the earth.

And here is a video that Andy, the Bury Event Chair put together following our Relays this past summer.

Let us know if your Relay wants to participate. Thank you so much!
Hi Lynn,
We are getting together as many Relays as possibly around the country and around the world to participate in Relya on the Same day. So far we are Bury in the UK and San Ramon, CA in the US. Bury's Relay starts at noon their time on the 27th. They are 5 hours earlier than you. So if you start on the 26th, it would be great timing. And we are 3 hours behind you. We start at 10:00 on the 27th end on the 28th at 10:00.
We are hoping to walk about 25,000 miles between all the Relays we get together in order to walk the circumferance of the earth. And if it works out, we'd love to be able to stream video or chat online during the day.

Thanks again!
That's wonderful! Thank you, Lynn! We're thrilled to have you on board!!
Hey, how do you pronounce "Burriville"? Is it like "Berry"ville? The UK Relay was have on board is Bury, pronouned "Berry". It would be a cool coincidence if you name was so close to theirs!
Thank you for joining in!
We're on our way!
