Has anyone done the collecting old cell phones fundraiser on this site http://www.cellularrecycler.com/relayforlife/howItWorks.php
Does it make much money? I like the idea the phones are recycled.

We have been collecting cell phones and ink jet cartridges over the past two years. We have a drop box at one of our local phone companies. We check it every few weeks and send a box off every couple of months. It has probably netted us around $500 plus. There are two companies to deal with. One is phoneraiser.com and the other is ecophones.com. We've dealt with both and they are comparable. They provide the mailing labels and pay the postage. All you do is box the phones up and send them off. It's a great win win situation. It's not a ton of money, but there isn't much work to it. Good luck!!

Hi Lisa, we have never done this but what a great idea! We go through mobile (cell) phones like there is no tomorrow in the UK due to the fact that they are more of a fashion item here than a communication device!
I will look into this for our fundraising.
Thank you

I did a cell phone fundraiser for Relay last year through a company out of OK called the Pace Butler Corp. We are a small town, but I managed to collect 60 used cell phones and I received a check for $53.00. Some of the cell phones were damaged or to old to qualify for any incentive. It is a very inexpensive fundraiser, but the return was not what I was expecting, but at least I helped recycle used cell phones!
