I'm new--looking for Relays in SF Bay Area.


	kpaisley Posts: 4 Joined: 2008-10-27 I'm a stage II melanoma survivor; was diagnosed last spring. I'll finish my treatment (interferon) at the end of June 2009. I'd like to participate in a relay once that's over. Anyone know when they are? Thanks! There is a Cal Relay which is a college Relay. 5/2/2009 Their new site is up and going. http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?fr_id=13626&pg=entry It looks like most of our local Relay sites aren't yet up. But if you search past events in the Event Finder, you can get an idea of when the local Relays will be. And if you are interested in a particular Relay, you can get ahold of your local office in Oakland (1-800-877-1710 or 1-800-ACS-2345). And if it happens that your are interested in helping out on the CAL event, I know the Relay Manager and can introduce you. I'm at the GTU, I'll finish in May (God willing and my faculty be patient with my chemo-brain, which they are). The end of June would be about the earliest I could possibly do anything, as I'm on interferon until then. I'm exhausted all the time. But I really want to do this. Thanks! I recommend scrolling to the bottom of the search page and entering a ZIP code.
