Hi everyone,
I'm Sarah and I am the Survivor Chair for the Relay For Life of Bridgewater State College in Mass. Our Relay is in March and I'm having my fellow students vote on the song for our lap and I need some suggestions on the songs. I'm survivor myself but I want to be completely unbias about the songs so I need some help. Thank you!

Hi Sarah -
First of all, congrtulations on your battle! You are truly and inspiration!! I have been a Relay DJ in the Boston area for 12 years now, and I've used all sorts of songs for the Survivor's Lap. This year, I'm going to use "Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty. Last year, it was "I'm Alive" by Celine Dion. In previous years:
How To Save A Life - The Fray
I Run for Life - Melissa Etheridge
Keep Holding On - Averill Lavigne
Unwritten - Natasha Bedengfield
Little Wonders - Rob Thomas
Walk On - U2
Heroes - David Bowie
I get a feeling that this year, we're going to be inundated by requests for "Just Stand Up". By the way, I have TONS of experience with Relay music and am in constant touch with Relay DJs all over the country, so feel free to ask if you need any help! You can contact me via e-mail at info@Rockin-In-Boston.com. Good luck

Hi Mark!
Wow what a helpful guy you are!
i am the chair for the Kearsarge Lake Sunapee Relay
and we are probably going to need a new DJ this year.
We use the DJ for our master of Ceremonies for the 18 hours we walk
Do you know of any in New Hampshire that are reasonably priced?
Our event is June 5-6.
Thank you!

Hey Christine -
I know some northern Mass people who I could convince...can you let me know the following:
1. The exact location of your event.
2. The hours of the Relay
3. The number of people you usually have (this will affect sound requirements)
4. Your budget - I think a ballpark figure would be OK on this.
And with that in hand, I'll go to work for you. Shoot me your e-mail and I'll try and put this together for you.

Budget ?????.......I've been DJing the Relay in Manchester, TN for the past 5-6 years.........I've NEVER asked for a DIME........I bring MY gear, spend hours setting up/tearing down, deal with requests by walkers and event board members..........it's one of only two or three "charity" events I do all year...........I'm glad to do my part, as small as it is.........any DJ who asks to be compensated with more than a thank you doesn't need to be there.
I've been doing the Relay since 1997, have raised almost 3 million dollars for the American Cancer Society, and have never even thought about asking for any money. It was a generic question for a Relay 2 hours away - they simply asked to see if I could locate someone in their area, so I figured I'd cover all the bases.
FYI, I was able to locate them a KILLER jock and the only compensation involved was that the good people provided a room for him to crash in after the event.
Thanks for your input, and thanks for everything you do for the Relay For Life.
