I am new , well not really I have walked in this event two year and i moved and I am trying to get my school involved. They want to but how do I set it up?
This is the perfect time of year to start thinking about securing the location for your event (if your event is going to be in the spring). The first thing you should do is contact your local office and start working with your staff partner. They should have paperwork and perhaps a presentation or a "gameplan" for presenting the idea to the decision-makers at your school. They may also tell you that there is already a Relay For Life event in your community that you can participate in, or that they have spoken with several other people in your community who have also expressed interest in starting an event there.
You should also identify who needs to approve the event at your school. If it's a high school, is it a principal? The school board? The football coach? All of them? Knowing who you need to ask if important in saving your time and theirs.
