Hi, our relay use white and brown bags too. But still i want to buy some Coloured Luminaria Bags. when i was in Italy i used there coloured luminaria Italian Bags, they were awesome but i came back states here our relay uses white and brown bags. Recommend to all, Colored Luminaria Bags
please check with your staff before making a change like that - different regions have different thoughts on consistency, etc.
Another thing some events do is have kids color and decorate special "keepsake luminaria" that burn all night, and then you can "frame" the bag when the event is done and give back to the person who donated for it... If you do this, you might put the candle in a baby food jar or other jar to keep it from burning the bag.
There are creative ways to make your luminaria stand out!
we have always used the traditional white bags with the rfl logo on them to lap the track with. we are lucky enough to be have a stadium for our relay so we do hope and cure up in the seating, we also use purple bags and do a ribbon in the center of the two words.
Our relay uses the traditional white Luminaria bag with the Relay logo on it around the track for the in memory of bags. We then use colored bags in the infield spelling out HOPE. We have used mauve and purple. We just did an internet search for paper products and found the best price...sorry but I can't tell you now where it was from. If I locate the website I will post it.
For the past 2 years, we've used purple bags and had the survivors light a bag at the end of the survivor lap-no names on the bags, just light any bags. Then for the luminarias this year, we used the white bags to line the track, but the luminarias that we sold were kept together on this long shelving unit that our logistics team built. We used blue for those "in memory" and red for those "in honor of". They looked very cool-all the purple together, then the blue, and then the red. We got LOTS of comments.
Our Relay used to use brown and white. Brown were "in memory" white were "in honor" 2 years ago they changed. I missed the brown bags, because I felt that it made a bigger impact to see the different brightness of the bags.
I was informed that the policy changed and our division was only using white bags from now on, because they wanted to keep the message hopeful.
I don't know about other colors of bags, but that is what I was told last year. You may want to check with your ACS staff partner or event chair.

This is a good question. I'd like to know the answer too.
I'd also like to know if anyone has any good leads on where to purchase colored bags, and also any creative uses for them.
