Has anyone done a scavenger hunt at relay before? I want to put one together and was looking for some general ideas.

 Thanks

24 Hour Scavenger Hunt

Ted Torres's picture

We attempted a 24-Hour Scavenger Hunt only a couple weeks ago at the Merced Relay For Life®.  The Entertainment Chairs along with myself, Mission Delivery Chair, came up with 24 items.  The Entertainment Chairs came up with 12 fun items and I made a list of 12 mission delivery items.  The idea was to announce one item each hour and the first 3 teams to bring the items to the Mission Delivery/Fight Back campsite would be given points accordingly.  All teams finding the item during the hour would also receive points.  At the end of the scavenger hunt, the points would be added to determine who the winner was.  I may try this again in September at the Atwater Relay.

Here's the list of items we used:

  1. Have a nice day "Happy Face" something
  2. 1970's quarter
  3. A Purple Crayon
  4. Something to do with the Beatles
  5. Starbucks logo
  6. Nutritional Facts
  7. Mood ring
  8. Chapstick
  9. Empty Water Bottle
  10. Fortune Cookie Fortune
  11. Movie Stub
  12. $1 to donate to ACS
  13. Sun Block (minimum 15 SPF)
  14. Healthy Food Item
  15. Something you can exercise with
  16. American Cancer Society Toll-Free Number
  17. An item pertaining to Breast Cancer Awareness
  18. An item pertaining to Colon Cancer Awareness
  19. A hat
  20. Something with the Relay For Life® logo
  21. A straw
  22. The American Cancer Society Mission Statement
  23. A Purple Ribbon
  24. A Pair of Running Shoes

Hope this helps.
