Hello, fellow relayers.  We are having an honorary chairperson this year for the first time.  She is a nine-year-old girl undergoing treatment for bone cancer.  She is currently in a body cast and I don't know if she will be out of it by our relay.  Can anyone share with me some of the ways in which you have incorprated and/or honored your honorary chair at your event.

honorary chair

We always have our honorary chair/s listed in our program. They are presented with a special plaque at the start of the event. The plaque relects our theme. The honorary chair/s cut the ribbon at the start of the survior's lap.We had co-chairs last year, a 5 year old boy and a 9 year old girl. They were our Prince and Princess of Cure for our Quest for a Cure theme. The Princess cut the ribbon while the Prince pulled the sword from the stone and pointed the way for the survivors.

Hope this helps you

Jim
