Hello, I just registered here a few minutes ago. I need help. I am wanting to start a team where is live and I already know that there are several people who are interested in joining but what do I do, how do I get started, what are the fees, does my team have to be sponsored by a company, and my questions seem to go on and on. I can't seem to find the answers that I am looking for on the site and I didn't know where else to go. I live in a very small town and don't know alot of people. Any information and advice would be truely appreciated.
Becky, thank you for stepping up to take on the challenge of being a Team Captain. It may all seem a bit overwhelming at first, but it's all very manageable, and more importantly, both fun and very rewarding.
You don't need a sponsor to form a team. Typically, each team member pays a $10 registration / commitment (tax deductible) fee. A great resource to hep you get started is the Team Captain toolkit. Click on the red toolbox on the right nav -->.
Welcome to Relay.

CALL YOUR LOCAL ACS OFFICE
Your staff partner will help you get started. They are an important resource. When I started 4 years ago I did not know where to start either, but found out it is pretty easy and there is help available for every newbie.

Anyone can start a team
Anyone can start a team without a company. I believe it is a $75 entry fee, but I could be wrong. The best way to form your team is to have them all sign up on your Relay page. You may also try contacting your local chapter for more answers. I hope this helps.

i want to start a team
I'm a member of a star wars fan club and we've decided we'd like to start a team for 2009 for the relay in Carbondale IL. I have no idea where to start or who I should contact. Does anyone have that information. It would be greatly appreciated.

Carbondale Relay
Khristen, click here to go to the Carbondale / Jackson County Relay site. Unfortunately, since the 2008 Relay has concluded, the site doesn't list any specific contact info.
The supporting ACS office is the Marion Regional Office; their number is (618)998-9898.
Have a great Relay in 2009.
