Everyone has a story...

I heard some discussion during a "Telling the ACS Story" training session at the Relay Strategic Conference this weekend that some people don't feel like their story is worth sharing if they didn't face the same treatments that we always hear about (chemo, radiation, etc.). I wanted to share that my husband used to be the same way. Thankfully, his cancer was fairly easy to "cure," so he didn't think anyone would want to hear about what he went through. It wasn't until he first saw a Relay Survivors Lap that he realized that it's important for him to share his story, too. His motivation now is to let others know that if he'd been diagnosed 50 years ago, his cancer would have been deadly. It's because of volunteers that went before us that a cure was found. That kind of progress happens when people share their stories and commit themselves to the fight. Everyone's story is different, but they are all incredibly valuable. Please share your story here...
