My name is Samy. I'm 17 years old and come from a very small high school. I have hosted and chaired a mini Relay For Life in my high school for 2 years. I am looking for booth ideas that will appease my fellow classmates! My committee is having the local organizations set up booths but the money that the organizations make will go to their organization. The committee is sponsoring 4 booths and we only have one idea so far... a pie throwing booth!!! Please if you have any ideas I would like to hear them. Thank you!

In the past we have done a

In the past we have done a Jail.  Since you have a "booth" type area make it look like a jail and have a jailer.  Then you can have students swear out warrants for other students or teachers.  Then have a deputy go out and round that person up.  The person who swore out the warrant pays $1 and then makes a set price for the bail.  Our you could just set the bail at a certain amount.  The jailed person cannot get out until somebody pays their bail or if nobody wants to pay their bail, let them out after 20minutes.
You are getting money from warrants and bail.  See the point.  We did this for several years at our Relay event and brought in over $500.00  Being that yours is a school event it might not bring in that much but I guarantee the kids will have fun putting their friends or teachers in jail.  Then you get to see if somebody really wants them out enough to pay their bail.Cool

I am going to try to make

I am going to try to make this suggestion as easy as possible. Hope it makes sense. Get prizes donated.  They can be as simple as food gift certificates, soda's, gift cards, anything that would be good for a teenager to win.  Whatever you can get donated.  You need a couple of "good prizes"  worth more than the others, and something that would convince people to spend money to win.  The prizes can be of different values.

Get balloons and put a numbered paper in each balloon before filling.  The number inside is going to correspond with the prizes to be won.  For example, if you have 10 of say Burger King Certificates,   You do 10 balloons with the number 1 on the paper inside.  On a master sheet you have 10 #1's listed.  If you get a Wii donated, there is one balloon with the #2 for the Wii.  Hope that is clear.  All the balloons are filled, and all have to have a slip of paper inside, however all slips don't have to have a number on them.  Have the people pay to get a balloon, and "pop" it for the prize.  You can base what you charge for each balloon on the value of the items donated.  This doesn't require alot of $ to get started, and the amount you can make is only limited by your ability to get things donated.  If business' aren't available, maybe some adults would be willing to donate items.  Candy bars would work, movie passes, etc.  You just need a couple of "good" items to draw people in.

I remember seeing an idea

I remember seeing an idea that looked like a hoot.

Sell a foot of duct tape

Have your most liked or dislike teacher get 'duct taped to the wall..

I think he/she wears suspenders/overalls

Then stands on top of a bucket against a wall (brick?)while students buy duct tape and tape his arms and suspenders to the wall... then after all the duct tape is use--someone kicks the bucket and the teacher is left 'glued/taped to the wall'---they say it makes for a great photo shoot...

booth ideas

One booth idea we are doing for our relay is a "Kissing Booth". You sell tickets prior to the start of the "kissing booth". You can sell tickets for whatever. We are going to sell them for 25 cents. Well when it is time to start announce for everyone who purchased tickets to line up and have whoever is going to be the kisser lean in like they are going to kiss them and then hand them a herserys kiss! This should be alot of fun!

Have Fun!

Booth Ideas

I like the idea of pie throwing. My brother just did a pie throwing contest. To keep costs down, they selected 4 people to be Pie Eaters(he was one of them) and each had their own ticket can. They sold raffle tickets for 50 cents or $1 ea and the ticket purchaser could choose who they wanted to have the pies tossed at. The person with the most tickets in the can got the pies in the face. They raised about $250. If you are doing this at school, see if a popular athlete, dean or teacher would like to participate.

Also 50/50 or Split the Pot raffles do extremely well.

Good Luck!
