We are trying to understand the purpose of this new "ACS" Survivor form. Unfortunately we were misinformed and now need to convey the correct info/purpose of this form to our 600 plus Relayers.
As a test--I just went online and used another email address and 'signed up' on the SURVIVOR link as a Survivor non-Relayer participant. I was prompted for many questions except when I did click on "I relay because I am a survivor'-it didn't ask me the questions surrounding my cancer (as it does when you register for a team and checked you are a survivor)
So my question is this.. is that NEW ACS Survivor form to be used ONLY for those who signed up under the "Survivor" link on the website who did NOT go thru the Relay full registration process and questions or for those who manually filled out a form to participate in the Survivor luncheon?
I was completely surprised that when I did register as a 'survivor' non Relay participant..that I had created a web page for myself.. Should this be something I as Online Chair have altered when we set up the website? I suppose I am now counted as a participant and am reflected in our total participants on the rotating counter on our front page...
Any comments or thoughts.... I need to update the website so that those who were at our Relay meeting the other night can be reinformed on whether they need to fill out the ACS form.
Thanks all, Alicia Mahmot

To count our Survivors in Region 10, all must either register online or fill out the scannable form. The forms are then batched and sent to Shared Services for entry into Siebel. The scannable forms are each unique and thus cannot be uploaded to our Convio sites for use. The issue is, I understand it, participants were mistakenly told that they all must use a scannable form. This is not true. Only those not registered online must fill out a form. My understanding is also that 'Survivor-Non Team Member' registrants will not flow to Seibel as Survivors unless the select the 'I Relay because I am a Cancer Survivor' option. So, perhaps we need to do a better job communicating to our staff up here that for us, that is the 'Survivor' flag and anyone not marked that way needs to fill out a scannable form.
Yes, I agree...the new way of registering is frustrating. Doesn't matter which way you click to register...Start a Team, Survivor, Individual...they all go to the same place. if you choose to register specifically as a Survivor you are still presented with the Fundraising goal. And you get a web page.
So no, you didn't miss something that should have been changed by you...they give the Survivor Lappers a web page in case they, too, wish to fundraise. And they, too, are listed under Participants and are counted in the Participant count on the Home page. So if you - like we - have separate goals for Relayers and Survivors, explaining that the numbers don't quite make sense is kind of annoying.
And if you Inactivate your faux Survivor, she will still be counted in your total numbers. I have 2 extra people from just that.
