Has anyone ever done a track you lap fundraiser before with the little beads and if so can you please send me all the detail as to how to go about doing one. I would love to do this for our relay, it seems like an awesome idea. If i remember correctly reading somewhere you charge 3 or 5 dollars for the first initial piecs of string but do you charge when they come back to get the beads. I'm so confused.
please let me know ASAP my relay is in less than 2 weeks and i would love to do it this year.
Pictures 7 and 16 have good pictures of the necklaces. They speed by, but if you click on browse gallery you can pull up individual pictures. Good Luck Everyone!

it varies
My first year I bought 15 bags of yellow and 5 bags of red, and we ended up running back to the craft store to get a couple more. It depends on how big your relay is and how many people attend. Its hard to judge.
I always stock up a month or more before relay, so that if I need more the day of, the craft store has re-stocked their shelves (because I usually clean out Michaels and Joanns). Then I return the unopened bags

What kind of String should I get????
What kind of string do you suggest I get - people have been saying i've got yarn you can have, but i think i might need something a little more stronger than that. What do ya'll think.
I will be going and looking for stuff this weekend, relay is next saturday - wish me luck.

String
I get crochet thread. Its stronger than yarn and softer than twine, which makes it more comfortable to wear around your neck. Iwould think yarn would fray like crazy.
You just have to make sure, since it comes in different thicknesses, that it will fit through the beads you are using.
