I am so proud of Frankfort Relay For Life Team Captains!

This past Saturday three teams raised over $1,000 (exact amount is unknown)

Money mouthBank vs Credit Union

American Founders Bank challenged Commonwealth Credit Union to a basketball game. Now, as Team Developement Chair for Franklin County, you can imagine I am very competitive and love a challenge. As an employee of Commonwealth Credit Union I was not about to pass a chance to show a Bank what a Credit Union is all about. Well, I will admit right now I talk way to much "smack" (as the younger ones would say). CCU did lose the gameCry, but the Real winner was Relay For Life! Around $800 was raised via $3 admission and concession stand. The teams had a lot of fun and it was a great morale booster for staff! What a Win Win situation!

CoolCapital Family Pharmacy and Medical Supplies joined with Girl Scout Troop 1075 had a Carnival and Dance

It was a little chilly, so the dancing might have been jumping around to keep warm! The food was great! Nothing beats a Hamburger off the grill, nachos, my favorite cotton candy and a good ol' bake sale. Captain Carlos mini Pirate ship and many activities for kids! I skipped the corn hole contest....I "throw like a girl, non athletic girl". This relay team had great support from the local police department offering finger printing and lots of D.A.R.E goodies! Support continued with all vendors and the local bands donating time for a great cause....funds raised - unsure...she hasn't gotten a final count.

FrownOn one sad note, one of Frankforts Team Captains lost a neice to cancer yesterday. My prayers and thoughts are with this family and Relay Team.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday and Week!

Dodge Ball, 50/50 tickets

Sally73064's picture

My daughter (who is a 3 yr. survivor & a senior in high school) goes to a very small high school...avg class size is maybe 125 students. Her school, so far, has 16 youth teams (grades 9-12), 1 faculty team, 1 alumni team and 1 parent team. Their goal this year is to raise $25,000. last year they raised over $15,000. The most popular fundraiser is a dodgeball tournament. They held the 2nd annual dodge ball tourn recently and raised over $2,400! 50/50 tickets are always a good idea (hopefully whoever wins will donate it back to Relay), as well as, passing the bucket at sporting events (purple bucket of course). They also hold a yard & bake sale at the school.

Encourage kids to send emails to everyone they know and have them get email addresses from their parents.

Good luck!

Sally
