Dear bloggers,

Is male breast cancer is on the rise?  I would like to find out more about this subject because I am a passionate woman who cares very much about women's breast health along with the rising male breast cancer facts being posted on some sites. Please send anything like personal experiences, stories that are close to you, or what you know first hand.  In learning more about this subject I will be better educated and will be able to pass onto others your heart felt and caring educational information through my blogs.

Women and men need to take on their own personal approach and that begins with taking control of their own health. Breast cancer is the only cancer we can find on our own, we cannot find colon, ovarian, cervical, stomach, or lung cancer, so what are we waiting for?  Let’s get proactive!

Doctors have begun to recommend annual mammograms to our younger women, it used to be the age of 40 now it is 25 and this is a big age difference!   Does this mean that male breast cancer cases are rising as well, are our younger men looking at a different way of life when it comes to their breast health and prevention options? Since our younger women are being diagnosed with breast cancer earlier it does seem reasonable to suggest that male breast cancer cases must be rising too?

Let me tell you about my first experience with breast cancer prevention, I was either 14 or 15 and this was my very first appointment, I was very nervous but very attentive.  The doctor showed me how to examine my breasts, told me that I should do this ever month, and mentioned something about good breast health.  As to this day, I do not remember him telling me any facts about breast cancer or even what a tumor might feel like.  After speaking with all kinds of women I have heard the same story no explanations, no facts, no reason, just do it and I believe this is still the case today.  I’m sure there are millions of women who are missing the very important details and educational information that should be shared by their doctor.  Why are the doctors not taking the time to share this vital information with our men and women today!

Since it is a known fact that breast cancer is not just found in women who have a known family history of breast cancer early detection of this disease s is our only why of fighting back.  We need to start performing our own monthly self-breast exams, men and women alike.  Start talking, asking questions, and get the facts from our doctors. Doctors do not know what your breasts look and feel like on a daily basis and as I said before it is your own personal approach to good breast health.
