Simple and Easy School Fundraiser Idea

Here is a great fundraising idea that everyone can get involved with and it's an ongoing fundraising source year around. I am sure you will find Passport To Giving an innovative way to provide a dynamic and ongoing source of new funding for your school.

Our Travel Program is unique to the non-profit industry in that it provides your school with a private label travel website branded with your school’s name and logo. The website is similar to Expedia® and has all the selections and features of other online booking websites.

Your new travel website provides an alternate source for your supporters to book their business and personal travel… travel they are most likely already booking online. In fact, current statistics show that up to 82% of all personal travel is booked online.

It would be a simple shift for your supporters to book their travel with your school‘s travel website. They would receive competitive travel rates or better, and they would be helping a cause in which they believe. According to a recent Cone/Roper study, “86% of all Americans would likely switch brands to support a cause when price and quality are equal.”

Most importantly, each time your supporters book travel, your school will receive, as royalties, 60% of all the travel commissions YTB receives from travel booked on your site. This would produce a source of fresh money for you.

It is also important to note:

• The program is not a long-term agreement. You are not committed for any predetermined length of time.

• We help you develop a custom marketing program to promote the website through your existing communication channels.

• Travel commissions are paid by third party vendors, not your supporters.

• Even a small portion of your supporters using the program, still produces a huge financial windfall.

• The program requires virtually no management by your school.

Upon request I would be happy to provide you with a DVD that gives a quick, but thorough overview of our program. .

I would welcome the opportunity to provide more information to you and anyone else in your school who would want to learn more about our exciting fundraising program.

??

Dtmartin, did you just copy and past this into every forum? Because I don't know of many preschoolers who do much traveling. I think it might even be considered spamming, this posting of the same message without reading the OP?

But on the actual topic, I would second the coin wars and art show. Coin wars are nice because the little kids are so eager to please (and thus bring in their pennies very enthusiastically) and the art show is perfect for that age (especially since the kids will beg their parents to buy their art back!) I can't think of many other things, except perhaps a coloring contest that kids would have to pay to enter (with some cool prize donated from a local kids-ey place) but good luck!

Mini Relay?

Have you checked out the mini Relay kit?  I think this would work well for your older students.  It would give both the preschoolers and their families a chance to learn about Relay For Life and the ACS.  Check with your staff partner to get a copy of the kit.

Penny War

I am doing a penny war here at work. I have included my boys (7 & 9). All you have to do is set out jars and have them fill it with pennies. The idea is that like here at my work we are at "war" between two departments. The war part is that pennies are positive points and anything silver or dollar bills are negative points. So if you have 100 pennies (positive points) and someone puts in a $1 then that would be -100 points. This would also help the kids learn math. I have then given them an incentive by telling them that the winner will "win" something. Hope this helps!!

What About An Art Show?

People LOVE to buy art work from their children.

What about creating some art projects (paint, clay, chalk, etc.) around the color purple, even handprints (afterall, the kids are a huge reason we're fighting cancer, right??) and then making construction paper frames for "prints" and "paintings", while putting "sculptures" on pedastals, etc. and then holding an evening art show with music, "cocktails" and appetizers, (maybe signatures or conversations "with the artist") and selling the pieces for donations?

You are really thinking about this and leveraging your connections! That's the Relay way! Good for you, and good for Relay! I hope this helps to at least get you/others thinking.

Post back how it works out so I know! Smile
