This is the first time our Relay has a Kids Care committee.  They have some ideas for kids ages 10 and under, but not really anything for 10-15 years old.
They are planning a bubble pool, moonbounce and story teller.

When do other Relay's have Kids Care?  Throughout Relay or just certain hours?

 Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks!!  Laughing

Kids Care ideas

I was committee chair for Kids Care last year, and planned all sorts of cool stuff, and on the day of there hardly ANY kids that came to participate in the activities. I think it was because it was so HOTTTT last year, and all of the kids were hiding in the shade :)

Kids LOVE temporary tattoos. I purchased a bunch from a discount store last year, and the kids went CRAZY putting them all over the place :) We had face painting as well, and that seemed to go over big with some of the younger kids.

I also organized Trick or Treating for the kids in the evening. It was a HUGE success. Any teams that wanted to participate got a little purple pumpkin (that I made) to hang at their campsite. The kids went around in their costumes and trick or treated where ever they saw the pumpkin! Some teams brought candy, others brought pencils and other little knick-knacks to hand out.

This year our theme is Home for the Holidays, and we are doing trick or treating again, AND we have a team who is doing an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids (they picked easter as their holiday)--it's the PERFECT time to get eggs :)

If I remember any other great ideas I'll post 'em here :)

All about the kids!

It's great to hear that you're trying to incorporate more kids into your events!  Our event is based from a school-district in San Antonio, TX.  Most of our teams are from the 60+ schools in our district.  We have activities planned throughout the night for kids of all ages...such as tug-o-war, basketball/volleyball tournaments, hula-hoop contest, face painting, etc.  Also, our theme this year is "Night at the Movies--Stars Fight Back" and we'll have various movies playing throughout the night with movies geared for our youngest audience at the start since we don't anticipate having AS MANY 10 and under participants remain (awake) during the overnight hours.  This year, we're also having a PS2 "Guitar Heroes" contest and a "Battle of the Bands" and/or Drumline competition between the 6 high schools in our district.  Our district's cheerleaders have been asked to participate in welcoming the Survivors to the track and we're hoping to get different dance/step teams to come out and perform at different times through the night.

Best of luck to your event!  I hope some of these ideas will help....

Kids care

We dont have that but we have clowns bounce houses and a jail cell. (You pay to put people in!) We have a round where kids walk and get free things. random toys and free hot fudge sunday It is very fun. The older kids usualy help with the stands or we have the mister and Mrs. Relay contest. We also have fun at the barn fire or listening to the band.

I don't think our Relay does

I don't think our Relay does anything special for kids (it would be AWESOME if they did though) but what about face painting, balloon animals, a video game center (see if some local gamer stores would donate systems, controllers, and games to be used), a movie screening (a tent with a projection movie?).... maybe a small skateboarding park?

Just some ideas!
