Our Relay is moving to a different location this year.  We are most excited as the stadium we are moving to is much larger and has a large screen/Jumbotron that we will have access to.  I'm looking for ideas on ways to utilize the Jumbotron to enhance our event.  Of course, we've already discussed using it for our slide show, for showing the Celebrate, Remember, Fight Back video, etc. - but I would appreciate any other ideas you all have.

Jealous....

Wow...so many things you can do!  (We're trying to get one for our event, but to have it already in place???  Jealous!!!)

You can use it during your registration/check-in time to help people figure out where they need to go and what they need to do to get set up/park when they arrive.  You can have pictures of your committee members so people know who to look for if they have questions/problems.  Scrolling names for Luminarias.  Set up a PowerPoint slideshow like the "Picture a Cure" with pictures of Survivors and a little story about their journey through cancer.  ADVERTISING for your Sponsors!  Announcing upcoming activities and/or awards throughout the night.  "Team Spotlight" for the biggest fund-raising teams, best decorated site, most spirited, most Survivors on team, etc.  You can even use it for a count-down to your Luminaria ceremony to help people get quieted and settled down before it.  I could go on, but I think those are the main reasons we've been trying to get one for our event!

Jumbotron

Wow!  how incrediby fabulous!  so it sounds like it will be bright enough to be visable during the day as well as at night.  If you have the ability to use it during the day, you could:

  • Have a station during the day where people could give quick interviews about why they Relay or make messages to be displayed periodically up on the screen.
  • Project what's going on in various areas of Relay:  the stage, kids camp, various mission delivery activities, Survivor tent.
  • You could partner up with another Relay taking place on the same day and if they were able to post messages or video to the Internet or stream video, you could project them there.

I can't wait to hear how you use it!  Good luck!
