I need help guys... Origionally our event was scheduled for 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. and we had the whole evening planned out, but now i just got news about 2 days ago that the times have been changed and not it is a day time event instead of an overnight event. We are doing it from 12 noon to 12 midnight because of a noise ordinance in the neighborhood. It was either change the location or change the time. So obciously they decided to change the time and now i'm having a problem with finding more activities to do during the day...
Can ya'll please send me some of your ideas of stuff to do during the day - i origionally was going to have a midnight pajama fashion show and a midnight snack competition - well that is obviously out of the question, i can try and change it to a regular fashion show but how would i stage the whole thing. I want to get the community involve but we only have like 40 days left and i don't know if that's enough time to get a local vender involved to come out and help with everything... I was thinking maybe get a local clothes store donate some clothes to wear but that might be too hard, or i can see about getting some people that sell make-up or a local salon to come out and do make-overs...
gosh i've got alot of work to do, but my problem is when i try and call people i get all shy and don't know what to say over the phone... i'm great with writing e-mails and stuff but calling people has always been a problem for me.. Is there anyone out there that can help...
Are you looking for team activities? We do midnight madness games for our teams to compete in, but they could be done during the day as well. Pie eating contest, water balloon toss, frozen tshirt contest, egg walk, sack races, etc. You could also have the fire dept come out with a truck and let people get in and stuff like they do for school field trips (even the big kids like this). Have a lip sync contest and Queen of Relay.
How about checking with your fire department for some extra gear, and then teams will race each other relay style to put the gear on, run to team mate, take off the clothes and the next person puts them on and runs back and repeats with next team mate until everyone has a turn. It was a really popular event, and can fill up a good time slot if you have a lot of teams.
I find it is easier to call in person than on the phone. Make a visit to their location and bring a friend if you need to. That way you will have an ally with you, to maybe help if you stumble on words. Good luck!
