My mom is the Relay Online Tech Chair & I'm the Relay Online Promotional Chair and we intertwine our positions & I help her out w/ working on the site when she's busy with things going on. When I create a custom page the Relay For Life banner is NOT in the way of the editing toolbar but when I go to EDIT a page that has already been created such as the event main page for example. When I click edit, the editing window shows up but the "Relay For Life" Banner gets in the way and hides the Editing toolbar. I'm using Mozilla FireFox and what I have to do is quickly scroll down & then scroll back up real quickly before the banner hides the toolbar again and click on the button I want to click on. Also when I want to cut something or copy something and click on the "cut or copy" buttons on the editing toolbar, I get this message from firefox: "Copy/Cut/Paste is not available in Mozilla and FireFox. Do you want more information about this issue?" Do you think we need to contact our Staff Partner about this problem. If anyone else has had this kind of problem for either issue, the banner getting in the way of the editing toolbar or the copy/cut/paste feature not working in Mozilla FireFox, please let me know what you guys had to do to solve the problem
Also for those who have been the Relay Online Tech Chairs in the past or have been the Tech Chair for several years now, what kinds of things have you done to your event site besides the needed information, and event info. We were thinking about creating a page with a few stories of some cancer survivors that will be participating at our Relay.
I have found that I click on the page just left of the banner when it pops up then click on the page where you want to make a correction or add something and the banner goes away letting you edit or add or whatever.
When you first click Edit and the banner jumps on top of your page, point left of the upper left corner of the banner. You should get the crosshairs so when you click, you can drag the page just far enough down that the banner is no longer in the way.
I use IE, so I can't answer the question about Mozzilla. But that sounds very frustrating.
I've added in a section for local interest...things that are happening in our Relay area. Pages under that are: 2008 Committee - listing who is in what position and what positions are still open Pre-Relay Events - showing Captain meetings, Team Fundraisers, places we will have booths or information, Survivor Day,etc Announcements How to get the video or bears from last year
We'll also have a page for tracking offline donations that have been turned in and counted. Although, this was difficult last year and we may give up on it this year.
I also have a section called Resources. Under that there are pages for: Signup, Setup, Send and links to the: Fight Back Video RelayForLife.org Team Captain Kit
Did you and your committee come up with a Team Captain Kit or is that kit from this site? Also, the Fight Back video, is that here on this site? Just wondering!
