Bike Run
Rita, Normally on a bike run, it is about poker. The Team (Bike & RIder) pay a preset entrance fee, then they pay a certain amount per hand they want to play. Entrance fee could be $10/person $15/Team Also $5/hand. Then what you do is plan a scenic route around your area. When I lived up north, we would do the covered bridges run up in Ashtabula OH. There were 6 0r 7 covered bridges within a 75 - 100 mile run. We would use 5 of them for the stops (to get a card) At each covered bridge volunteers would stamp their hands (cards) and they would pick another and try and get the best poker hand. You get people to donate prizes for the winning hands (Gift Certificates from local businesses, homemade gift baskets, etc. The final stop is at a public park where you can picnic. You provide the drinks (no Alcohol) and hot dogs and burgers etc...... They are a lot of fun. Here is a link to the local Harley-Davidson H.O.G. Club in your area. They are a fundraising social arm of the dealership. Contact them and tell them what you are trying to do and what you want to accomplish. http://www.springfieldhog.com/ They have the MDA ride every year and are quite familiar on logistics and everything else on a bike run Have fun! |
