Anyone having trouble registering participants?
|
One of my team recruitment chairs wrote to me letting me know the difficulty of registering some of her participants. So, I offered to go in under "event manager" and add a participant myself. I'm also having problems. It won't "process my request" & it also says someone else is using the email address. (we used none@none.com; then I changed it to nobody@none.com) Am I missing something? Another person for a different county had the same problem. Trackback URL for this post:http://www.relayforlife.org/relay/trackback/3026
Navigating to the wrong Website
The Event search is sending you to a non-existent site. I discovered that the search for the Grand Rapids Relay points to an incorrect URL. The word "cancer" in events.cancer.org/rflgrapidsmi is misspelled. Click here and it'll take you to the Grand Rapids Event site. Have a great Relay 2008. /Rick Missing or Incorrect Event
If you search for your event, but it does not show up...or if it is incorrect, you can tell us about it by clicking here. Registration lessons learned
One thought that always comes to mind when team members get together to register and then report difficulties...When someone concludes online registration, they're automatically signed in to the Event on the premise that they'll now want to access the Participant Center to "...set up and send". If they immediately proceed to sign up another person without first signing out, an "already registered" or "duplicate email address" error will be generated. Lesson learned: Start every registration anew and make sure you're not signed in to the Event. As to adding participants offline via the EMC, you can avoid the duplicate email edit check by not entering an email address at all; it's not mandatory in offline registrations (as configured in South Atlantic Division; this may vary across Divisions). /Rick Sign in
The only thing I can offer is that I had one of the members of my team write me yesterday and let me know that she was able to register, but it wouldn't let her room mate. If they are using the same computer and sharing an e-mail, I can understand why that happened, I had no problem registering her myself through the "Event Mgr". They share the same address so I do not see that as a problem. Rick should probably be by soon to update you if he has any updated information for you ..... |
