I'm looking for ideas for songs for the Fight Back Ceremony that are NOT included in the workbook or online at THIS website. Any suggestions? I could really use some creative ideas.

Good Fight Back Song

Brave by Jamie O'Neal

I have been thinking over

I have been thinking over this as well and I was listening to some music randomly and I realized that a perfect song is....

Change by Taylor Swift.......... here are the lyrics

It's just a sad picture
The final blow hits you
Somebody else gets
What you wanted again and
You know It's all the same
Another time and place
Repeating history
and you're getting sick of it

But I believe
In whatever you do
And I'll do anything
To see it through
Because these things will change

Chorus:
We can feel it now
These walls
That they put up
To hold us back
Will fall down
It's a revolution
The Time Will come
For us to finally win
We'll sing hallelujah
We'll sing hallelujah
Oh

So we've been
Out numbered
Rated and now cornered
It's hard to fight
When the fight ain't fair

We're getting
Stronger now
From things
They never found
They might be bigger
But we're faster
And never scared

You can walk away
say we don't need this
There's something
In your eyes
Says we can beat this
Because these things will change

Chorus:
Can you feel it now
These walls
That they put up
To hold us back
Will fall down
It's a revolution
The time will come
For us to finaly win
We'll sing hallelujah
We'll sing hallelujah
Oh

Tonight we'll stand
Get off our knees
To fight for what we worked
For all these years
The battle was long
It's the fight
Of our lives
We'll stand up
Champions Tonight

Chorus:
It was the night things changed
We can see it now
These walls that they put up
To hold us back fell down
Cause it's a revolution
Throw your hands up
Cause we never gave in
We'll sing hallelujah
We'll sing hallelujah
Hallelujah

As I can see someone already

As I can see someone already suggested one of the Nickelback songs but I just wanted to add that any of them might be suitable. Anyway, you can't just take our word for it as there might be a difference of taste between us. You should listen to them all and chose the one song that speaks to you and your cause.

fight back songs

I just found one called "Stand" by Rascal Flatts and will probably use it.

Another one, also called "Stand" by Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus is also possible.

Song Suggestions for the Fight Back Ceremony

My vision of the Fight Back Ceremony is one of action.  It should motivate and leave people feeling energized.  I have been looking for songs both with a message and an upbeat tempo.  Here is a list of the songs I am currently considering for our Fight Back Ceremony.  I still searching for music, so if anyone else has a suggestion, please share with us.  Here's the music:

  • Right Now by Van Halen
  • We Are The World by U.S.A for Africa (written by Michael Jackson)
  • Change the World by Eric Clapton
  • I Run for Life by Melissa Etheridge
  • Ain't No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
  • Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
  • You Gotta Be by Des'ree
  • Up Where We Belong by Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes
  • Lean on Me by Bill Withers
  • The Power of One by Bomshel
  • Power of Love by Huey Lewis & the News
  • Walking on Sunshine by Katrina & the Waves
  • If Everyone Cared by Nickelback
  • Eye of the Tiger by Survivor
  • Gonna Fly Now (Theme from Rocky) by Bill Conti
  • Dancing in the Street by Martha Reeves & The Vandellas

These songs are in no particular order.  And I am aware some of them may not be up tempo, but I have been considering them.

Right now, I am thinking I will open the Fight Back Ceremony with Van Halen's Right Now.  I want music playing in the background during the ceremony, but have no plans for a songlist yet.  I want to begin the final lap with We Are The World.  Then continue playing songs until the last person is finished.

What do you think?

fight back ceremony music

Hi Ted,

I am a new Co-Chair for Relay for Life this year in Woodbridge, VA and Van Halen also has a rendition of "Dancing in the Streets" that is a real "Toe-Tapper". Also, a touching song is "You'll Never Walk Alone" you can probably download from LimeWire.

Songs for Fight Back Ceremony

Last year on our Relay DVD we used "This is My Now" by Jordin Sparks, from American Idol. The lyrics are perfect! Because she's young and from "Idol" I think that the "younger" crowd at our Relay really loved it. It's also easy to understand the lyrics, which sometimes I think become difficult to hear in faster "rock" songs. Good Luck!

Fight Back songs

I am thinking of using an Eagles song called, There's a Hole In The World. It was originally written for 9-11, but I think the chorus fits.........."There's a hole in the world tonight, there's a cloud of fear and sorrow, there's a whole in the world tonight, don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow."

Everytime we lose someone to cancer, 'there's a hole in the world'.........so let's Fight Back and "don't let there be a hole in the world tomorrow"!

Hope this helps!!
