My husband is second in line of 9 children.  His youngest brother is 16 months older than our oldest son.  My mother in law was only 49 when she was told she had cancer.  The doctors were already treating her for what they thought was a kidney problem for 7 years,  She did pass away at that early age. with three kids still at home.  She had colon cancer.  This was in 1985 and now because of the research being funded by people from all over, several of these children have had early detection of the colon and are free from what would have been bad news with in the next 5 years.  I Relay for my mother in law and all her children who can have early detection and for her grandchildren she never got to see.
