Use this Forum thread if you have issues with the batch upload process or the Batch_data_entry.xls application.
Some guidelines:
- Batch_data_entry.xls uses Excel macros. You may have to relax the security level set in your copy of Excel. For some XP versions, click on the Excel menu bar: Tools / Macro / Security... and set to low or medium. For later versions of Excel, respond to the dialog box to permit the macros to run. NOTE: You may need to exit and re-start Excel for the macro security level to reset.
- Once you click on Create CSV file, save the entered data to a new Batchmmddnn.csv. If you go back to the data entry tab and click on Create CSV, you'll over-write the Upload tab. Always save to a new copy of Batchmmddnn.csv
- Pick the appropriate version of Batch_data_entry.xls for your current (not ultimate) number of participants and teams. For example, when your Event registers more than 100 teams, that's the time to download the 200 team version.
- Use the "Team Only" version of Batch_data_entry.xls if you don't allocate offline transactions to participants, The Participants tab is ignored in that version.
- You do NOT have to download the lists of participants and teams every time you run the application. Only do so when you know the look-up lists in your copy of the app need to be updated.
- Shorten the pull-down lists by adjusting the range of lines displayed; see the last section of the Implementation Guide for the simple steps to do so.
Remember: Batch_data_entry.xls is offered as a tool to help you enter batches of donations recorded on Team Accounting Sheets quickly and reliably. Its use is recommended but is not required. Suggestions for improving the data entry app are welcomed.

Batch_data_entry.xls for Excel 2000
The "Save" macros on the Participants and Teams tabs fail for users of Excel 2000. Check the IG section of the ROCN site for a modified version of Batch_date_entry.xls for this older release of Excel.
